Reports have surfaced indicating that Apple’s recently released AirPods Pro (2nd generation) may suffer from intermittent connectivity issues.
According to MacRumors, several readers contacted the publication and posted on its forums about an issue where the new AirPods Pro show that they are connected to the iPhone or iPad, but no audio is playing. Some people also mention that they have encountered problems connecting the new AirPods Pro to non-Apple devices.
For what it’s worth, my experience with the AirPods Pro (2nd generation) has been relatively solid so far. I’ve had some trouble getting wireless headphones to switch from my iPhone 14 Pro to my MacBook Pro (2021) and “Adaptive Transparency” sometimes highlights audio that it shouldn’t, but my connection to the devices has been solid.
That said, I occasionally experienced an issue with AirPods Pro (1st generation) similar to what MacRumors describes.
Since the AirPods Pro (2nd generation) only launched on Friday, it’s hard to know how far this issue is. It’s also worth noting that reports of the issue have yet to appear on Reddit or Twitter.
