5SOS drummer Ashton Irwin has been rushed off-stage and taken to hospital after suffering “intense” symptoms in the middle of the performance.
Five Seconds of Summer stopped halfway through its set during a concert in Woodlands, Texas, Monday after drummer Ashton Irwin experienced “symptoms of a stroke” caused by heat exhaustion.
According to TikTok fans, crew members took the 27-year-old Australian musician off stage after the band’s song. My lover.
At the time, the group said they were taking a break before a man returned and told fans the show was over, reports the New York Post.
“It looked like the AC stage had been turned off for a while and the venue was not providing water to the fans,” the TikTok user said. 365 wrote in a video of the event.

“Upon experiencing physical symptoms, Ashton was taken to a local hospital for medical tests and checkups,” the band wrote in its Instagram story on Monday.
“As a result, Ashton was reported to have experienced extreme heat exhaustion. Fortunately and most importantly, he is feeling well and recovering very well.”
“I was crying in the ambulance, because I feel like I disappointed a lot of people,” Irwin opened on his own Twitter account. “Now I take care of myself and rest.”
“I feel very loved and cared for by my brothers and the team and by all of you. That’s the price a dehydrated drummer pays when he catches the heat of Texas.”
“I suffered an intense migraine caused by exhaustion and overheating on stage which made me lose my sight and gave me symptoms of stroke on the left side of my body. So the decision was to finish the show there and then ”, he concluded.
“After Medical Advice,” 5SOS also canceled its concert in Rogers, Arkansas, on Wednesday. The rescheduled date is July 26, which will be the last stop on the American stage of their “Take My Hand” tour.
The band’s 5SOS5 album comes out on September 23rd.
