Justin Hodges has called up Paul Gallen for a future Origin fight after defeating Ben Hannant by unanimous decision.
Although many predicted a knockout end, the fight went a long way as Hannant showed a great heart to go all the way to the end.
Liam Wilson’s main event against Matias Rueda, which could see Australian Wilson propelled to the world title photo, is pointed out.

It was an exciting fight that had a surprisingly slow start.
A first round that threatened to explode was relatively tame, as “The Polar Bear” seemed to be busy soon against the more experienced Hodges.
Hannant spun around the ring as he sought to fire his shot at Hodges, but simply failed to find his target.
But what was missing in the first round, the second round more than made up for it.
At the start of the round, the referee separated the two and when Hannant moved back and had his hands down, Hodges exploded with a brutal shot that landed clean.
Jeff Fenech of the Main Event was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
“What was wrong with that,” Fenech asked.

He lit the wick for the rest of the round, while the two raised things.
Hannant used his strange side step several times to try to open a clean punch, but Hodges managed to escape one after the other.
The two fought back and forth in the third, each landing overwhelming shots.
Hannant even made Hodges almost tip the ropes at one point.
The fourth saw Hannant and Hodges sway wildly as they tried to finish once and for all, but all they found was clean air.
Hodges got a brutal shot right at the end that made Hannant tantalize, but the latter may have been saved by the bell while the fight lasted all four rounds.
Speaking after the fight, Hodges was excited and played at the height of the crowd as he sought to mount a box office hit against Gallen.
“If the people of Queensland want to see me knock out the dirty cockroach,” Hodges said.
“I know Gal has a lot more experience than me, but I’ll get on with it and I won’t, I don’t care. I don’t know how long I’ll last, but I know that if I get it, he’ll be alseep too.”
THE EPIC WALKOUT OF THE DANCING BOXER FLATS THROUGH THE FIRST THRIILLER
Wes Capper might have had the early exit of the night as he danced towards the ring with a propeller hat, but his skill inside the ring could not match the ride.
Capper faced Benjamin Hussain, 23, in the latter’s seventh professional wrestling match, but it was the younger man who brought the veteran to school.
Hussain has been very successful in finding Capper’s face and body, opening his nose in the first rounds and dominating the middle part of the fight.
However, Capper managed to find a second wind in the final stages of the fight and landed strong shots on Hussain.
In the end, it wasn’t enough because Hussain won by unanimous decision.
GALLEN PROMISES EPI HODGES
Paul Gallen has emphatically stated that he would “fuck the piss” of Justin Hodges if the latter emerges victorious while aiming for a highly successful fight between football legends.
Hodges faces former Maroons teammate Ben Hannant in a heavyweight bout on the tab of Liam Wilson (10-1, 7KO) in a super featherweight bout against Matias Rueda (37- 1, 32KO) at the Brisbane Convention Center.
The former Broncos legend has spoken out in front of him about how a win would crack Gallen before they both hang up their gloves forever.
If this were to be achieved, Gallen would enjoy the opportunity to get his hands on a former Kangaroo teammate “legally”.
“It would be a lot of fun,” Gallen told foxsports.com.au.
“I would punch him, that’s for sure. I played a lot of test games with him and he wasn’t a bad guy, but he was one of those guys that you’d like to punch in the face.
“Being able to do it legally would be great.”
If Hodges emerges with his hand raised, he would certainly bring a strong taste of home state to a future struggle between the two.
So much so that the two made a bet based on this year’s edition of the heated state rivalry that would affect the location of their future fight.

“STARTED TO CRY”: Wilson opens in a “terrible” downward spiral.
“I made a deal with Justin Hodges,” Gallen said.
“If Queensland wins the series, I’ll fight him in Queensland to have the hometown advantage. But if New South Wales wins the series, we’ll have to do it in NSW. He agreed.”
However, Gal holds out hope for a result of one in a billion that would make him once again the most wanted man in the state of the sun.
“Fighting one of those two wouldn’t be a problem,” Gallen said.
“We’ll just have to see what happens. I’m still half waiting for a double knockout, so I can fight with both of them the same night.
“Getting to hit two Queenslanders in one night would be fun.”
Despite the excitement, Gal finally believes that there is a man who will have his hand raised.
And it’s not the betting favorite.
“I will choose Ben Hannant,” Gallen said.
“I think it ‘s too hard. I think it’ s going to be a nuisance.
“Ben Hannant will catch him. I don’t know how, I just know he’ll get it.”

Australia is gearing up for another major dose of boxing on Wednesday night as local favorite Liam Wilson fights Argentine Matias Rueda for the vacant OMB international super featherweight title.
The fight between Wilson (10-1, 7 KO) and Rueda (37-1, 32 KO) is the main event at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Center and is the last big-screen fight being organized on these shores, ready. the heels of George Kambosos against Devin Haney earlier this month in Melbourne.
Wilson faces the fight as a big favorite just a few months after defeating Joe Noynay of the Philippines in his rematch to secure the OMB Asia Pacific super featherweight belt.
But Rueda leads a streak of five straight wins in the clash, having not lost since returning to the ring in 2019 after a three-year hiatus.
Boxing legend Jeff Fenech sees Wilson as the next best hope for the Australian title and was full of admiration for his courage, especially after accepting the rematch against Noynay who failed to gain weight.

“The confidence the boy had to get into the ring and do it was pretty special,” Fenech said.
“Here’s a guy who’s been knocked out by someone and you’re again confronting someone who virtually ruined your career, and you’re taking the biggest risk.
“I just believed in myself, I knew he made a couple of mistakes in that first fight and he corrected them. It was crazy, it was an incredible victory. ”
George Rose, the CEO of No Limit Boxing, which is the promotion that is being put on the menu, believes the two fighters have a lot to lose in this contest, but the rewards of a win could be huge.
“When you enter the top 10 in the world, it’s not an easy task. Regardless of age, whoever loses this fight is dropping out of the standings, ”Rose said.
“A loss for both of them has a massive impact on his career and where he’s going from here. But a win in this fight for Liam puts him in the top two and then he’s in a position. where a world title challenge could be happening in the next 12-18 months.
“I think he can challenge for a world title. I absolutely think that.”
One of the highlights of the tab below is a heavyweight bout between former Brisbane Broncos and Queensland teammates Justin Hodges and Ben Hannant.
Hannant will make his professional boxing debut, while Hodges (3-1-0) already has four fights in his belt. The contest is scheduled for four three-minute rounds.
The main Wilson-Wheel event will likely begin around 9:30/22: 00 p.m.
