Jeremy Renner now out of surgery for chest and orthopedic injuries after snowplow accident

Update 03/01/2022: Marvel Cinematic Universe and Hawkeye star Jeremy Renner is now out of surgery but remains in intensive care following a snow plowing accident.

As reported by Variety , the star is now confirmed to have suffered blunt force chest trauma and orthopedic injuries, as Renner remains in critical but stable condition.

“Jeremy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the amazing doctors and nurses caring for him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, City of Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve, and the Carano and Murdock families ” read a statement from Renner’s spokesperson. “They are also tremendously overwhelmed and grateful for the outpouring of love and support from their fans.”

Original story 02/01/2022: Hawkeye’s Jeremy Renner is in “critical but stable” condition after being involved in a snowplow accident near Reno, Nevada.

As reported by Variety , Renner’s rep confirmed the news and shared that the MCU actor is in good hands.

“We can confirm that Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries sustained after he was involved in a weather-related accident while shoveling snow earlier today,” Renner’s rep said. “His family is with him and he is receiving excellent care.”

Washoe County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a “traumatic” injury near Hwy Mt. Rose in Reno, Nevada around 9 a.m. PT on Sunday, January 1.

“Upon arrival, deputies coordinated with the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for the medical transport of Mr. Jeremy Renner by airlift to an area hospital. Mr. Renner was the only party involved in the incident.”

No further details were released, but the Sheriff’s Major Accident Investigation Team is “currently investigating the circumstances of the incident.”

Renner has owned a home in Washoe County for many years and according to News 4, the county just had a major snowstorm on New Year’s Eve and more than 31,000 people lost power.

Renner first appeared as Hawkeye in the MCU in 2011’s Thor and was one of the stars of the first Avengers film. In 2022, she starred in the Disney+ series Hawkeye opposite Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop.
