Novak Djokovic won his seventh Wimbledon title and fourth in a row coming from behind to beat Nick Kyrgios on the center court.

The headless Australian Kyrgios went from laser-focused to horribly distracted, sometimes arguing with his box, referee and crowd.

In the midst of all this, No. 1 seed Djokovic made a display of exceptional consistency, made just 17 unforced errors in three hours and one minute, and took the title 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6.

Novak Djokovic won his seventh Wimbledon title by defeating Australian Nick Kyrgios

The 35-year-old Serb now has 21 Grand Slam titles after securing his fourth straight victory.

The 35-year-old Serb now has 21 Grand Slam titles, one more than Roger Federer and one less than Rafael Nadal. His form has been erratic this fortnight, but, as often happens, he brought his A match to the championship match.

Kyrgios was playing his first grand final at the age of 27 and was almost perfect in the first set, sending seven aces and only losing five points on serve.

He also appeared with an icy calm and the ‘Let’s go!’ he let slip after Djokovic’s double foul to give him the crucial break was the first time we had heard of him so far.

The set passed at half-time when the match started with Kyrgios ’light pace. From the beginning of the second set, however, Djokovic began to lengthen the rallies and Kyrgios was forced to do things.

In the fourth game, Djokovic increased 40-0 with Kyrgios serving; a lucky net rope and had broken the Australian’s service for the first time in his career.

The Serb saved three break points as he served to win his first set against Kyrgios in his third game.

In the 2-2 third set, Kyrgios complained to referee Renaud Lichtenstein of a woman in the crowd: “He’s drunk unnoticed in the front row, talking to me halfway through the match.

‘The one in the dress, the one that seems to have drunk about 700 glasses.’

There were other words in there and one of them earned him his first warning, for audible obscenity.

In the 4-4, starting at 40-0, Kyrgios played a terrible game to break up and spent the entire subsequent change screaming at his box, apparently reprimanding them for their flat body language.

Djokovic is not the man to give a break and served to move within a set of the title.

As the fourth set progressed, Kyrgios seemed much more focused and dangerous as he dragged Djokovic into the tiebreak.

But Kyrgios made a double foul in the first point of the break and Djokovic closed the game with ease.

He raised his arms to celebrate. There are 28 straight victories for Djokovic at Wimbledon and, according to this evidence, he will stop in 2023.
