Queensland has won one of the best games in home state history, defeating New South Wales 22-12 in the decisive decision at Suncorp Stadium.
“This is one of the most famous Maroons victories you’ll ever see,” Origin legend Cameron Smith said.
Queensland were at a disadvantage in the face of the match and took a 16-12 lead with 18 minutes to go thanks to a solo try from Kalyn Ponga.
But then Ben Hunt overcame it with a brilliant effort of his own attempt in the final stages of the mtach to seal the result.
It means the Blues have yet to win a decisive game at Suncorp Stadium since 2005.
Maroons lock Patrick Carrigan was the winner of the Wally Lewis medal as a player in the series, despite coming off the bench in the first two games.

A fierce start to the match saw three players leave the field for the HIA in the first three minutes.
New South Wales striker Cameron Murray and Queensland duo Selwyn Cobbo and Lindsay Collins fell in two minutes. They all failed their HIAs.
Murray was shot after hitting a header in the first inning of the Blues game and moments later Cobbo also fell due to the friendly fire.
Just 90 seconds later, and Queensland teammate Lindsay Collins came out for an HIA after contacting a teammate at an entrance.
“It was a carnage and not a bit of illegal gambling,” Maroons great Paul Vautin said in the half.
“Just a good tough rugby league. It’s unheard of (losing three players so soon).
The Maroons scored the first try when rookie Tom Dearden passed for Valentine Holmes in the 12th minute.
The Blues counterattacked with Nathan Cleary making a draft for teammate Jarome Luai to score and score.
Queensland debutant Dearden set up the first try and tried to have a second assist just to make his pass controversial ahead.

Minutes later and NSW hooker Api Koroisau threw a flat ball to rookie Jacob Saifiti to score and the pass was allowed.

Queensland bounced back in the half after Harry Grant put in a good time for Kurt Capewell to bounce and score.
Holmes missed the conversation to give NSW a 12-10 at the break.
The second half began with a wild fight between Maroons center Dane Gagai and his Blues against Matt Burton.
Gagai landed one in Burton’s mouth, which left him bleeding as wild changes took place and players ran in from everywhere.
Queensland boss Daly Cherry-Evan thought he had scored, but was recovered by a NSW penalty due to players getting angry in the back game. Both players were dumped.
A brilliant 40/20 lead from the Maroons hitter Ben Hunt in the 58th minute gave his team a third chance to attack in the second half.
They didn’t score, but they had another chance when Stephen Crichton threw the ball into his own goal in the Blues ’second inning.
This time, Queensland made the most of it with Kalyn Ponga throwing himself close to score.
