Meghan Markle looked awesome on this glamorous Vanity Fair cover, but behind the scenes she was smoking, it has now been claimed.
Meghan Markle’s excitement at being on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine turned into hysteria and anger after the magazine focused on her relationship with Prince Harry rather than her acting and philanthropy, according to a book new on the royal couple.
In “Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsor,” British journalist Tom Bower said Meghan was “ecstatic” when the magazine agreed to tell a story about her and put her on the cover of the September issue of 2017.
But when the magazine used the headline “She’s Just Wild About Harry” and didn’t focus on her work as an activist and philanthropist, Buckingham Palace disappeared, and Meghan was furious with her public relations firm. United States, Sunshine Sachs, according to excerpts from the book published by The Times of London on Saturday.
According to Bower, Meghan had been under strict orders from Harry’s public relations team to stay away from sensitive issues, such as Donald Trump, race and her relationship with the prince.
Meghan had convinced Harry that the article would focus on the celebration of episode number 100 of Dresses, the TV show the actress was filming in Toronto, where the interview took place.
“Sunshine Sachs had demanded that the magazine meet Meghan’s requirement to present her as a philanthropist and activist, regardless of any issues: Vanity FairScrupulous researchers on his side could not find evidence of his global philanthropy and activism, “Bower writes.
But when Vanity Fair Collaborating editor Sam Kashner, who confessed that she had never heard of Meghan or “Suits,” asked Meghan about her relationship with Harry, and she replied, “We’re a couple. We’re in love.”
“I’m sure there will be a time when we have to introduce ourselves and introduce ourselves and have stories to tell, but I hope what people understand is that this is our time,” Markle said in the article.
The interview was “like a throne,” Bower writes. “The interview provoked sensational reactions: Meghan had used her relationship with Harry to promote herself. The Hollywoodization of the royal family had sealed Meghan’s fate as Harry’s girlfriend.”
