The Lions were given a big scare by their home rivals, but after trailing by seven points at three-quarter time, they kicked five goals to one to win by 17 points.

The result sees Brisbane hold on to third place, and after Melbourne’s loss to the Bulldogs, the Lions are just 3.3 per cent behind second place.

Unfortunately for the Suns, it’s almost certainly curtains for the 2022 season. They’re two games out of the top eight with four games remaining.

In the end, Brisbane won disposals 337-294, possessions contested 138-120, marks 87-82, clearances 44-35, free throws 24-19, inside 50s 55-51, field goals 30 -23.
