Two people have died after a house fire in Sydney’s south-west.
Six residents, including a child, were evacuated from the house in Rottnest Avenue, Hinchinbrook, after it was engulfed in flames shortly after 5.30am on Sunday.
They were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics.
Two people died at the scene, both of whom have not yet been formally identified.
The boy was taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital in a serious condition.
The fire was extinguished by Fire and Rescue NSW.
Officers from Liverpool Police Area Command have established a crime scene, which will be examined by specialist forensic police.
The circumstances of the fire are under investigation and the cause has yet to be determined.
Reports will be prepared for the coroner.
