Western Bulldogs star Bailey Smith has been given a two-game suspension for “misconduct.”

Smith admitted to using illicit substances last year, after photos of him with white powder appeared on social media last week.

The AFL interviewed the young gunman and admitted that gunpowder was an illicit substance, which he had ingested.

“It simply came to our notice then.

“We are pleased, however, that Bailey has taken unqualified responsibility for the mistake he made and intends to learn from him.

“We will continue to strongly support Bailey during this difficult period. Our primary responsibility to him and all of our players is to ensure that his health and well-being are protected.”

Smith will miss Rounds 16 and 17 after serving an existing penalty.
