Motorola Razr 2022 arrives with flagship chipset, improved 6.7-inch foldable OLED

The wait is over, Motorola has finally launched the Moto Razr 2022 and the phone is everything we’ve been waiting for. The new foldable keeps the signature shell design and features an improved display, dual cameras and a flagship chipset.

The diagonal of the screen is 6.7″, which is the same as that of the predecessor, but the similarities end there. The new OLED panel has a better hinge that folds into a pear shape to close completely when folded, supports HDR10+ and features a 144Hz refresh rate. Also, Motorola dropped the strange bezel-less notch and introduced a punch-hole design for the 32MP front-facing camera.

Now, we don’t want to call it a selfie shooter as selfies will probably be taken with the dual camera on the back, in combination with the external 2.7-inch OLED display which apparently remains unchanged.

The primary camera has a 50MP 1/1.55″ sensor and OIS identical to that used on the Edge 30 Pro and S30 Pro. The secondary camera is a 13MP ultra-wide-angle shooter with 121 degree FOV.

The previous two Moto Razr phones had Snapdragon 7xx series chipsets, but finally, the Moto Razr 2022 comes with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.

Other specs include support for RAW shooting, the MyUI 4.0 interface that redesigned some apps to work on the external screen as well, dual speakers with Dolby Atmos support, and proper DC regulation.

The Moto Razr 2022 is now available for pre-order on the company’s Chinese website in just one color: black. We don’t know if or when Motorola will be bringing it overseas, as for now we’ve heard virtually nothing about it.
