“The Queen Was Right”
Tens of thousands of people stood for hours in the blazing sun to watch the Queen’s procession, reports my colleague Holly Bancroft.
People from all over the world have gathered in huge crowds, joined by the royal family.
A news presenter from New Zealand, who was there to film the procession, took pictures for a group of women who had come from Glasgow and Edinburgh. Wilma, who had organized the day for the group, said they wanted to come and pay their respects.
“A lot of people talk and don’t follow through with action, but the Queen was right,” he said.
She had been on the Royal Mile with friends Fiona, Elizabeth Ray and Margaret since 11am.
“My mother named me Elizabeth R after the Queen. I’m here for my mother as much as for myself,” Elizabeth said.

Where did the king go to school?
When King Charles III was a young boy, the royal family took the unique step of sending him to Gordonstoun Boarding School in Elgin, Scotland, rather than recruiting private tutors.
