A second man is in custody following the stabbing death of 23-year-old Levi Johnson after he was ambushed in the parking lot of a gym in Mansfield earlier this week. Two others continue to flee.
Police carried out two raids last night in the suburbs of Ransome and Birkdale and raided another house in Birkdale this morning arresting a 34-year-old man.
Detective Superintendent Andrew Massingham, Brisbane’s regional crime coordinator, said he was being questioned.
Police said they are still looking for Kyle Martin, 24, and Thomas Myler, 35, who may be armed and dangerous.

“We are appealing for them to come forward to the nearest police station,” said Detective Superintendent Massingham.
“Most importantly, any member of the public who has information on the whereabouts of these people should contact Police Link or, if they wish to remain anonymous, Crimestoppers.
“We believe they may still be in the Capalaba, Birkdale or Ransome areas.”

Detective Superintendent Massingham said media coverage had helped track down the men.
“Two members of the public have come forward … they have dashcam video shortly before the fatal stabbing and the actual commission of the crime,” he said.
“It’s horrible, it’s confronting, it’s very hard to watch.”
“Items of forensic importance found”
Police said they found items of forensic importance at Ransome’s home yesterday and believed Mr Myler had shaved his head after the stabbing.
They said “component parts” of some weapons were located on Thomas Street in Birkdale and were being examined.
Detective Superintendent Massingham said the weapon used in the killing had not been located and the motive was still unknown, but the four men had been watching the victim before the incident.

“We have evidence to place them [in the Carindale area] making certain observations of the victim,” he said.
Those involved in the incident claimed to have ties to the “13 Kings” gang.
“The credibility of these claims is still being investigated and any claim that this club is linked to any other outlaw biker gangs is just speculation,” he said.
“There is any suggestion that this club [13 kings] it can be a feeder group. This is a line of research that we are exploring. The link has not been established at this stage.”

Detective Superintendent Massingham said the “13 Kings” gang had a clubhouse in the Capalaba area of Brisbane’s east.
He said the two escaped men posed a risk to public safety.
“This crime is horrifically violent and the manner in which it was carried out is unthinkable,” he said.
“It is in the interest of public safety that these two people are arrested as soon as possible.
“There is a possibility that both of them are armed and also dangerous. That is our concern.”
Extra police have been deployed in Ransome, Birkdale and Capalaba.
