Police have reported that a woman has been stabbed in the back by a cyclist in Ilford, east London.
The assailant left after stabbing the 27-year-old victim in St Johns Road in Ilford on Friday evening.
Metropolitan Police have released images of a suspect they are looking for.
He wears black clothes and a black and white bicycle helmet, carries a black bag, and rides a distinctive green bicycle.
The woman was taken to hospital after the attack and her injuries do not threaten her life or change her life.
Chief Inspector Chris Byrne said: “I know that this attack on a woman, which will take place so soon after the tragic murder of Zara Aleena, will be of great concern to Londoners and the people of Ilford in particular.
“Of course, my colleagues and I share these concerns and we are working hard to do everything we can to keep people safe.
“The woman was attacked by a man riding a bicycle, who was heading towards Meads Lane, Ilford.
“Anyone who recognizes the person from the circulating images is urged to call the police immediately.”
The image shows the suspect in Meads Lane around the time of the attack.
Local people will have seen more police in the Ilford area since the murder of Mrs Aleena.
Police have deployed “additional resources”
Byrne said: “We have deployed additional resources in the local area, including officers specializing in the fight against violent crime.
“We will continue to adjust our plans to ensure that agents are visible and available to support the community this weekend and the following days.
“If you have any concerns or information, please talk to these agents.”
Law graduate Zara Aleena, 35, died of head and neck injuries after being attacked in the early hours of Sunday, June 26th.
She was walking home after a night on Cranbrook Road, an area she knew well and where the family said she felt “safe.”
Jordan McSweeney, 29, of Church Elm Lane, Dagenham, East London, has appeared in the Old Bailey on charges of murder, attempted rape and robbery.
He made no allegations and was detained until September 30.
