Mouat allegedly then hit Broderick in the head with a cricket bat.

Broderick’s friends have told 9News that the father of three should be remembered as more than an alleged thief who died after a faulty robbery, describing him as a good boy and a father figure.

Mouat has faced Geelong Magistrate’s Court today and was denied bail.
