A mother has been charged after stabbing her two young sons to death on the side of a road in Adelaide’s north late last night.

The 35-year-old woman has been charged with two counts of attempted murder following a bedside court hearing at the Royal Adelaide Hospital this afternoon.

Police allege the woman stopped her silver Honda sedan on the North-South Freeway in Wingfield before 11:30 p.m. and removed her two young children, an eight-year-old boy and a three-year-old boy, from the car years, then stabbed them. a knife

Other members of the public then also stopped to help and restrained the woman until the police arrived.

“We think he was very brave in doing this and we’re very glad he was in the right place at the right time,” Superintendent Selena Dinning said.

Both boys were taken to Women’s and Children’s Hospital and treated for critical injuries.

Dinning said both boys suffered multiple stab wounds.

They are still in hospital after being treated in a stable condition.
