June was an important month for Apple, with many announcements and new WWDC-derived products. We have new beta versions for developers of operating system updates this fall and our first look at the M2 processor in the updated 13-inch MacBook Pro.
July will be based on this excitement with the first public betas of iOS 16, macOS Ventura and everything else, along with the real showcase of the M2: the new MacBook Air. This is what we expect Apple to offer in July 2022.
M2 MacBook Air
The only major hardware release we expect from Apple in July is the new MacBook Air. But what a release it should be! The new M2 processor at the heart could be the least exciting upgrade. There’s a whole new design that removes the shape of the wedge, but it’s still as thin and light as ever, new Midnight and Starlight colors, a bigger screen with thinner bezels and a notch, a much improved 1080p webcam, new speakers and microphones and MagSafe Charge.
The new MacBook Air starts at $ 1,199, and Apple has yet to give an exact release date, only saying it will arrive in July. However, the latest rumors suggest it will arrive on July 15th. We suspect that demand will quickly exceed supply, so be prepared to place an order immediately if you want one.
The new MacBook Air is thinner than the previous model, but abandons the wedge design.

Applications and software updates
When Apple unveiled its fall operating system updates at WWDC in June, it said we could expect betas for developers immediately, followed by public betas in July. As June ends, we still don’t have a specific release date, but we expect it to arrive during the week of July 11: the third beta for developers followed shortly by the first public betas, which should be essentially identical compilations.
iOS 16: iOS 16 brings some really great new features and you’ll have a chance to try it out in July. Here’s how to join the iOS beta.
iPadOS 16: iPadOS 16 for the most part reflects iOS updates, but the new Stage Manager feature (exclusive to iPad M1) is very important.
watchOS 9: watchOS 9 brings improvements to sleep tracking, fitness features and watch dials.
tvOS 16: While tvOS 16 doesn’t bring many new features, it will still be updated this fall to stay in line with Apple’s other operating systems.
macOS 13 Ventura: Highlights of macOS 13 include the continuity camera, time and clock applications, scenario manager, and many application updates. Here’s how to get the beta version of macOS Ventura.
In addition to the beta versions of iOS 16, those who are not interested in testing advanced versions of Apple’s operating systems will also be able to launch in July. iOS 15.6, iPadOS 15.6, tvOS 15.6, watchOS 8.7 and macOS 12.5 have had several beta versions and are probably very close to the final public release. These versions mainly contain only bug fixes and security updates.
