The demand for virtual and augmented reality in the gaming industry is growing, and according to reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple’s AR / VR headsets will further increase that demand. It will be announced in January 2023, Kuo wrote in a blog post on Thursday.
AR / VR headphones are expected to be the most complicated product Apple has designed to date, he noted.
According to Kuo, competitors in the virtual reality industry, such as Meta, are expected to emulate Apple’s headphones once they launch.
“Apple’s global rivals will compete to emulate it, taking the headset hardware industry to the next stage of rapid growth and benefiting related services and content ecosystem,” Kuo wrote.
Apple CEO Tim Cook has spoken of his enthusiasm for RA. Earlier this week, he explained that the technology industry is still in the “very early beginnings” of the possibilities of this technology.
“I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunities we’ve seen in this space, and I’m watching and you’ll see what we have to offer,” Cook told China Daily.
Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
