Bayern Munich – Man City 0-1: Erling Haaland scores City’s first goal 11 minutes into his debut

Erling Haaland made a splash on his Manchester City debut against Bayern Munich, scoring the only goal of the game after just 11 minutes on the pitch.

He was assisted by a cross from man of the match Jack Grealish, which Haaland was able to convert from close range.

The Norway international left Borussia Dortmund for City, the club his father Alf Inge had played for, in a £51m deal in June.

The game, held at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, was delayed 15 minutes by a storm, and play was suspended until further notice shortly after Haaland’s goal.

Fans were urged to take shelter in the venue as lightning struck the area and players left the field.

The referees then announced a shortened game, with 27 minutes left in the first half and a 40-minute second half.

The stoppages seemed to affect the momentum of both sides, with neither side managing another goal in the full 80 minutes of play.

Haaland said: “As you all probably know, I’ve been watching a lot of City games in recent years, and in recent years I’ve been without a striker, so of course I’ve seen myself in those situations today. , so That does not surprise me.

Asked by his manager, Haaland added: “Guardiola is a bit crazy and I like that. So it will be fun. It’s a week so I can’t say too much, but I’ve been training well and I’m ready for what it is. Next .”

Asked about Grealish, who assisted Haaland in the only goal of the game, he said: “He’s good. He has to improve, I have to improve, but [it’s a] good link, I like the vibe around it, so it’ll be fun.”
