Queensland Prime Minister Annastacia Palaszczuk has announced the end of some of the last remaining COVID-19 restrictions in the state.
As of June 30, vaccines against COVID-19 will no longer be necessary for visitors to residential care, accommodation for people with disabilities, and corrective services.
The mandate of the vaccine will also be revoked in schools, early childhood education, extracurricular care, kindergartens, family daycares, police surveillance centers, juvenile detention centers and airports.
Decisions on mandatory vaccinations will be made by employers.
Mandatory vaccinations are still needed for health care workers, hospitals, care for the elderly, and care for the disabled.
In addition, the public health direction requiring post-arrival testing for those traveling to Queensland from international locations will be removed.
