It’s a rumor that has haunted him for years, but the popular Chris Pratt has made a surprise confession about his religious ties in a new interview.

In an interview for Hello Men On the July / August cover, Pratt, 43, clarified that “he is not a religious person” and that he has never attended Hillsong Church. Over the years, the actor has faced criticism for being associated with religion.
In 2019, the Guardians of the Galaxy The star was linked to Hillsong Church, which has been accused of being anti-LGBTQ +. At the time of the allegations, he said, “Nothing could be further from the truth.”
“I never went to Hillsong. In fact, I’ve never been to Hillsong. I don’t know anyone from this church,” he shared with Hello Men. Pratt said he decided not to say so at the time because he did not want to “throw a church under the bus.”
Pratt shared that he occasionally attends Zoe’s church and a Catholic church where his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, grew up.

Although he does not consider himself religious, Pratt shared that he has faith.
“I didn’t know I would become the face of religion when I really am not a religious person. I think there is a distinction between being religious – adhering to man-made customs, often appropriating the admiration reserved for those I believe to be a very real God – and using it to control people, to remove people’s money, to abuse children, to steal land, to justify hatred, ”he said.
“Whatever that is. The evil in every man’s heart has been dazzled in the back of religion and has been accompanied on the journey.”
The point of sale addressed the negative reaction Pratt has received on social media and said, “You don’t want to be hooked on complaining or anything, because I have so many blessings. I consider everything to be really a blessing to the my life. [But] why are they coming after me? “
In May, Pratt and his wife welcomed their second child together. “We are very excited to announce the birth of our second daughter, Eloise Christina Schwarzenegger Pratt,” the couple wrote on social media. “Mom and baby are fine. We feel more than blessed and grateful.”
The couple welcomed their first daughter, Lyla Maria, in August 2020. Pratt shares his son, Jack, with his ex-wife Anna Faris.
In April, Guardians Director James Gunn defended Pratt after a fan demanded that the actor be replaced in the Marvel universe.
Gunn responded to a fan on Twitter at the time, saying Pratt “will never” be replaced by “completely false beliefs.”
