Edward Lake, who lost his three young children and his father-in-law in a driving accident with a disability in September 2015 in Vaughan, Ontario, has died.
York Regional Police Chief Jim MacSween confirmed the news in a message posted on social media Monday night.
“I am deeply saddened to learn of Ed Lake’s tragic death this evening. The losses to the Neville-Lake family are heartbreaking,” MacSween wrote. “YRP is with our friend Jennifer and members of both families. May you find strength in supporting your community.”
On Sunday night, Lake’s wife and the mother of her children, Jennifer Neville-Lake, shared a post on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram with a photo of their children’s grave and the message: “Father’s Day 2022. That shouldn’t be true. It can’t be. “
Just a day earlier, Neville-Lake posted about her breakup in a local Facebook group for moms.
“I’ve been pretty quiet lately, more of a reader than an active member. It has been very much here, including the acknowledgment of the loss of my marriage, “he wrote.
In the post he also commented as “it’s unfair (the world)” as drunk driver Marco Muzzo was reportedly released from prison after serving two-thirds of his 10-year sentence that day. Muzzo was granted full parole on February 9, 2021.
“My multiple life sentences will never end,” Neville-Lake said.
Nine-year-old Daniel, 9, Harrison (Harry), 5, and Milagros (Milly) Neville-Lake, two, along with his grandfather Gary Neville, 65, died in the collision , which also caused serious injuries to Jennifer’s mother and grandmother.
