Five planets line up in a rare planetary conjunction

The northern hemisphere, including the UK, can get the best views 45 to 90 minutes before sunrise. Look east and very close to the horizon, ideally from a high point like a hill. Large buildings or trees will obscure the view. You have to get up early, because as soon as the sun rises it will clear the sky, darkening the planets.
