John Hoeven defeats major rival in GOP race for Senate in North Dakota
Incumbent Republican Sen. John Hoeven has won the Republican Senate nomination in North Dakota, according to an Associated Press poll.
Hoeven has been representing North Dakota in the U.S. Senate since 2011 and defeated his main rival Riley Kuntz, a former oil field worker, in Tuesday’s Republican primary in the state.
Hoeven previously served as the 31st governor of North Dakota from 2000 to 2010.
Hoeven will face Democrat Katrina Christiansen in the general election, the Associated Press reported on Tuesday.

The vigil party for assaulted Republican Rep. Tom Rice has begun in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Rice was applauded by a crowd of about 50 close friends, family, and supporters as he entered Brother’s Grill, one of his favorite restaurants.
Rice is running a tight race against state Rep. Russell Fry, who received support from former President Donald Trump.

Trump key factor in South Carolina primaries as he seeks revenge from incumbent Republicans
Former President Donald Trump’s backing power is facing another test in South Carolina, where he intends to overthrow two House rulers he considers disloyal.
Five-term MP Tom Rice, RS.C., was one of ten House Republicans who voted to oust Trump on charges of fueling the deadly January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol of the United States. The polls are closed for the Republican primary election in Maine and some have begun to close in North Dakota. Special election ballots for the 34th District of Texas Congress have also been closed.
