Three colorful meteor showers will light up Australia’s skies over the next four nights!
Austrinids Pisces, Alpha Capricornus, and South Delta Aquariids, the three peak showers, are expected to occur from Thursday, July 28th to Sunday, July 31st.
The South Delta Aquariids and Alpha Capricornids will peak on Saturday. So LOOK UP!
Peak periods of meteor showers usually last about 48 hours.
Aussie’s will have a prime view as the showers will be best visible from the southern hemisphere.
Macquarie University astronomer Professor Orsola De Marco has advised that Alpha Capricorni could be particularly spectacular, with the shower capable of producing very bright “fireball” meteors that appear to fall slowly across the sky.
