Good morning and welcome to the fourth day of our live blog of the fifth Test match. India resumes 125/3 and with the powerful Cheteshwar Pujara undefeated in 50 *, will be confident of accumulating a formidable total, and from his point of view, hopefully unsurpassed. With six sessions to end the match, and their leadership already 257, they have plenty of time to do so. If they want to go the other way, then the dangerous Rishabh Pant, with 30 * at night, is the kind of guy who scores fast enough to get India out of sight in an hour and a half. Therefore, there are many potential paths to victory for tourists.
For England, they will obviously be sure to pursue anything, given their brilliant recent form in the persecutions, but this could be a different proposition. Ravi Jadeja’s turn will come into play, and the shoemakers led by skipper Jasprit Bumrah will have watched with approval an uneven rebound on the third day.
Here’s Jonny Bairstow.
“Whatever they put in, they put in and we’ll do the same. Why not?”
“It doesn’t make sense to look at the numbers and all that. We know it will be the fourth, the fifth day the fields where we will play, but it’s okay. Recently, it’s been a lot of fun.
“It’s great to play in front of these crowds, play for the fans and inspire the next gene
Meanwhile, Mohammed Siraj praised Pujara for his efforts in the evening session, with the unconditional that he built his team’s position with admirable self-control.
“He’s a warrior. When the team needs him, he just has that attitude,” Siraj said.
“When it’s a difficult situation, you want to get up and surrender.”
