Julia Morris has been wild for her opening monologue to the Logies, which aimed to erase culture, Twitter and the gender pay gap.
Julia Morris has been wild on social media after a “bombing” during her opening monologue at the Sunday night’s Logies ceremony.
The comedian and TV presenter started the show with a series of jokes directed at Twitter, canceling the culture and the gender pay gap.
“What kind of night is ahead of us when we let a loose unit like me open the show,” said a Morris dressed in pants.
“The deal was that I could open the show as long as I dressed like a man,” he continued, telling viewers that while I was dressed in a suit, “I identify as a woman.”
“Instead of opening the program a rich white man, they have opted for a white woman who earns 30% less,” he said.

Morris then criticized the “culture of cancellation,” asking who had been canceled in the room, and made a spectacular diatribe about what exactly it takes to be a 54-year-old woman working in television.
“I am a 54-year-old woman. I dye my hair. I shave my legs. I have had botulism injected into my forehead. I have fake nails. I have age spots cut on my neckline. My hooded eyes have been cut off. Literally, my eyes narrowed and opened. I have hydrofacial treatments. I have a personal trainer. 54, to try to stay on TV. Do you know what’s the worst thing about looking so good? ”She asked.
“No one else can tell me anymore.”
The whole 10-minute game wasn’t exactly a hit on Twitter.
But the comments were not all negative: there were some viewers who came to social media to praise his monologue.
When he finished his speech, Morris commented that he used to watch the Lodges from home and wondered why “the same seven people” got the most awards and jobs in the television industry.
“Here’s the thing: now that I’m one of them, I don’t want that to change. If we couldn’t change that.”
