A 12-year-old boy has been hospitalized after being hit by a car that was evading authorities during a Queensland police intercept south of Brisbane.
A highway patrol spotted the unregistered car on Kessels Road in Macgregor just after noon.
Police said the vehicle sped and ran a red light, hitting a boy crossing an intersection on Mains Road near Sunnybank Plaza.
They said the driver, who is in his 20s, fled the scene and has yet to be found.
The boy suffered a head injury and multiple fractures and was taken to Queensland Children’s Hospital where he is now in a stable condition.
Police say the Ethical Standards Command has been informed of the incident.
