The best and brightest Major League Baseball stars will gather at Dodger Stadium Tuesday night for the MLB All-Star Game 2022. The All-Star Game concludes a hectic four-day stretch that featured the Futures Game on Saturday , the first 80 picks of the MLB 2022 Draft on Sunday and the Home Run Derby on Monday. This is the 92nd edition of the Midsummer Classic and the first at Dodger Stadium since 1980.
The American League has dominated the All-Star Game in recent years. They have won the round of 16, 15 of the round of 16 and 20 of the last 24 All-Star Games. That said, the all-time series is only 46-43-2 in favor of the Junior Circuit.

Stories
Brian Snitker, coach of defending World Series champion Atlanta Braves, will lead a National League club looking to end the streak of eight consecutive American League victories. Houston Astros skipper Dusty Baker is running the All-Star Game for the second time. Baker led the National League in 2003 after taking the San Francisco Giants to the 2002 World Series, although that season he coached the Chicago Cubs. It was the first time in history that an All-Star Game coach was not the coach of the team that brought him to the World Series the year before.
On the pile, Dodgers icon Clayton Kershaw will have the exit for the NL club at his home stadium. He will be the first pitcher to start his stadium since Max Scherzer got the ball for the National League at Nationals Park in 2018. Rays left-back Shane McClanahan, not Angels star Shohei Ohtani, will receive the ball for the AL team. Kershaw vs. Ohtani would have been quite fun, though McClanahan certainly deserves the starting order. It is unknown if Ohtani, who has never made a major league appearance outside of the bullpen, will pitch in the All-Star Game.
