Emily Blunt claims Tom Cruise gave her unconventional but motivating advice when they worked together on ‘Edge of Tomorrow’.
The actress, now 39, recalled her Hollywood co-star dishing out some tough love on the set of the 2014 action flick, a departure from her typical rom-com fare.
She said Cruise told her to “stop being so ap – i” as she struggled with her 38kg suit.
“We had to wear these huge suits, which I think would have been great if we had CGIed them, but we wanted to do it in a tactile way,” he revealed on the “SmartLess” podcast in an episode that aired Monday. , according to the news.
“When you hear the word ‘tactile,’ you think it sounds nice and cozy. There was nothing cozy about those suits. It was like 85 pounds. It was very heavy,” he continued.
“The first time I put it on I started crying and [Cruise] I did not know what to do.”
Blunt said Cruise “stared at her” as she panicked more about getting into the heavy suit.
“I said, ‘Tom, I’m not sure how I’m going to get through this shoot,’ and I started crying,” she admitted. “I said, ‘I feel a little panicky about the whole shoot.’
Cruise’s alleged response sent “The Devil Wears Prada” star into tears again, but in a good way.
“She looked at me for a long time, not knowing what to do, and said, ‘Come on, stop being so ap… will you?'” she said, adding that he caught her off guard and made her laugh .

The massive suit wasn’t the only challenge Blunt allegedly encountered on the set of the sci-fi film, as she revealed she also injured her ribs and collarbone.
He reportedly told podcast hosts Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett that the affected bones are “still questionable.”
