An elderly man believed to have been trapped for more than a day in a car that crashed into an embankment in Sydney’s south-west has been freed and taken to hospital.
Fire and Rescue NSW said the man, in his 80s, was believed to have crashed into an embankment and “remained in the wreckage for more than 24 hours”.
Paramedics and firefighters called to Old Razorback Road in Razorback around 5pm on Thursday stabilized the car before freeing the man.

They said the car had crashed “several metres” down the embankment, trapping the man.
“Firefighters used cables and winches to prevent the car from crashing further down the slope,” FRNSW said.
“They then cut the side panels so NSW Ambulance paramedics could get there and treat the man.”
Emergency responders said they strapped the man to a rescue stretcher and made him walk back down the embankment before taking him to hospital.
No information was immediately available on his condition.
