Following the announcement at the World Developers Conference of the latest set of Apple Silicon chips on the M2, Tim Cook and his team also unveiled the latest macOS laptops on the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. The first on the market was the MacBook Pro with M2 engine, and has not received a warm welcome, with its accelerated performance, tired design and confusing positioning, all highlighted by reviews.
Apple has now confirmed when the M2-powered MacBook Air will be launched, and there is high hope that this laptop will have better reception.

MacBook Air pre-orders will open this Friday, July 8, with the first batch of laptops to be issued on April 15. From Apple’s press release:
“Starting Friday, July 8, at 1:00 p.m. BST, the completely redesigned MacBook Air with M2 will be available to order and will begin reaching customers worldwide on Friday, July 15. Supercharged by the M2 chip, the new MacBook Air offers even more performance and a surprisingly slim new design, a larger 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display, a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, a four-speaker sound system, up to 18 hours of battery life. battery1 and MagSafe charging Now available in four magnificent finishes: midnight, starlight, silver and space gray: the MacBook Air with M2 starts at £ 1249 and £ 1149 for education.
While the cardinal number is larger, the M2 chip is no faster than the M1 Pro or M1 Max found in the larger professional-focused MacBook Pro laptops, so the direct comparison will be with the first MacBook Air M1 and a performance jump around. eighteen percent is expected.
One question will be whether this holds up, given the acceleration and performance issues the MacBook Pro M2 faces. Another will be if Apple has reduced the effective read and write speed of SSD storage by running single SSD chips instead of paired SSD chips, another issue affecting some of the MacBook Pro M2 SKUs.
Finally, will Apple be able to meet the demand? Supply problems have long been seen in the consumer electronics industry and Apple has been affected. As a populist consumer-focused laptop, this MacBook Air will no doubt be in high demand, and the deadline for delivery dates could grow rapidly when pre-orders open this Friday.
