Apple iPhone 14 release date: The new phone is likely weeks away

Apple’s rumored iPhone 14 will likely get its big reveal at the company’s media event on September 7, with many signs pointing to the new phones launching in mid-September. The reveal event is expected to include a larger, non-Pro iPhone 14, along with potential changes to the iPhone lineup’s design, price, and new features.

As iPhones are usually pre-ordered on the Friday of the same week as their event, we expect this to happen this year on Friday September 9th. iPhone release dates are usually a week and a half after Apple’s announcements. Sometimes release dates are staggered for specific models, especially when a new design or size is introduced. Therefore, it is possible that the iPhone 14 line will have more than one release date.

This year’s event also follows the Labor Day hypothesis that CNET has been diving into since 2018. It hasn’t always followed suit, as the hypothesis didn’t come true in 2020 or 2021, and still supply chain issues may have been reported for the iPhone. 14 could affect its release date. A recent Bloomberg report, however, suggested a September 7 release along with a September 16 release date. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has quelled some of those supply chain fears, saying it should only have a “limited” impact. in a July post on Twitter.
