IOS, iPadOS, WatchOS, macOS, MacBook Air and more are expected to be announced at WWDC 2022.
New Delhi: Apple is set to host the 2022 Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) tomorrow, where new versions of iOS, iPadOS, WatchOS and macOS are expected to be announced. There is much speculation about what Apple will reveal during its main presentation before the event, with some rumors claiming that the company would release realityOS, the software for the long-awaited AR / VR mixed reality headset from Apple.
It is rumored that Apple is causing mixed reality headphones during WWDC 2022, as previously reported. While the headset rumors are a bit blurry, there are significant rumors that Apple will reveal realityOS, the software for its future mixed reality headset.
Apple’s mixed reality headset is rumored to have numerous cameras, a processor as powerful as a Mac, and RealityOS software.
There are also rumors about the upcoming M-Series silicon chips for laptops, which match the rumors of the MacBook Air. Apple’s next-generation M-Series processor, the Apple M2, is reportedly included in the upcoming MacBook Air. The MacBook Air could be the first Apple device to include the company’s next-generation processor.
There are not many rumors or reports about what the next WatchOS will offer. Given Apple’s track record, it’s safe to assume that the new operating system will include some health and fitness capabilities for the Apple Watch. According to 9to5Mac, WatchOS 9 will bring an iPhone-like “low-power mode” to the Apple Watch, which will only show the time.
Apple is expected to increase multitasking on iPadOS 16, making the tablet more suitable as a replacement for a laptop.
IOS 16, the next software for the iPhone, is expected to have slight improvements over iOS 15. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple could launch new apps with iOS 16, though it’s unclear if they would be completely new apps or versions updated from existing ones. In iOS 16, Apple is expected to reveal “new ways to interact” with iPhones.
IOS 16 is also reported to offer iPhones an ever-active lock or display screen, a feature that has long been available on Android phones. According to Gurman, the iOS 16 lock screen will have widget-like features. Although the LTPO screen of the iPhone 13 Pro models has the hardware to enable this feature, reports say that this feature will be exclusive to the iPhone 14 series.
Apple may also show off its next-generation MacBook Air at the WWDC 2022 event, according to rumors. But this is doubtful because WWDC focuses on software and Apple rarely introduces hardware or goods during the main conference. There are also rumors about a new Mac Pro, which was expected to be released in mid-2022.
The WWDC is usually a one-week event that includes Apple’s inaugural conference, the State of the Union with additional technical details, Apple’s design awards, and a variety of developer sessions, labs, individual meetings, and other activities. The latest version of iOS (iOS 16), iPadOS 16, WatchOS 9 and macOS 13 will be presented at this year’s WWDC. There have also been rumors that this year’s WWDC will focus on augmented reality (AR). Let’s take a look at what Apple’s presentation will mean.
