Asmongold calls out Blizzard after brief WoW ban: ‘You obviously screwed up’

Asmongold was recently banned from World of Warcraft for a brief period, but was quickly allowed back into the game after Blizzard overturned the initial suspension.

In a recent YouTube video, Asmongold described his World of Warcraft ban as a “glorious day.” During this video, the popular content creator began by explaining the events leading up to the moment he discovered he had been banned from Blizzard’s hit MMO.

“I go to log into World of Warcraft and it says this: Blizzard Account Suspended.” Jokingly, Asmon then added: “I got locked up, rightfully so.” He then went straight to Blizzard and thanked what he clearly believed was a mistake on their behalf.

“I want to thank you Blizzard, this is going to be great clickbait on YouTube. You obviously screwed up and didn’t mean to suspend me, but that doesn’t mean my editors won’t do it for YouTube viewers. Thanks , Blizzard.”

He then read an email from the developers, explaining why he was banned from World of Warcraft for allegedly engaging in Real Money Transactions (RMT). However, Asmon quickly shut down the idea that he had done any RMT trading in the video, which appeared to be the reasoning behind his ban.

Asmon then called out Blizzard for their recent spate of player bans for allegedly unfounded reasons or banning players and then quickly overturned the decision. He did this by reading tweets from other content creators and community members who have found themselves in similar situations while playing World of Warcraft.

Following his video, the World of Warcraft community on Reddit has shown support for the content creator and also expressed their disappointment at Blizzard for banning Asmongold and others and then quickly backtracking after realizing that it was a mistake
