TRY! Canada 19-23 England (Beukeboom, 68′)
Oh my word, what an attempt! Beukeboom makes the break and finishes the play, De Goede gets the extras and oh, this semi is tight!
Updated at 05.08 GMT
68 min: Cokayne is out for Davies and so is England as Canada look to attack once more; questions about his fitness have surely been dispelled by this impressive and continued hammering of England’s line. Beukeboom makes an incredible break to put Canada within yards!
66 min: Another counter-ruck from England is good and they turn it over! I think Cornborough will be able to rejoin when there is a break in play. Harrison puts her in the stands and here comes the prop. We go back to 15 men and England did not concede a point during that sin. Kabeya is also on.
65 min: Tuttosi is out for Beag and Cokayne got some treatment before this scrum. After a reset, England go away and Harrison pulls away under low pressure. Canada have it and are looking for their third of the match, the fight from both teams is impressive. Alarie is coming back very well gaining valuable yards, they are getting close.
63 min: So can England see off this yellow card? Their defense expects it and they do well to legally bring down Canada’s maul. Cleall makes a great tackle and wins the penalty!
62 min: England give another penalty and Canada takes a corner kick. There’s a break in play here, a Canadian is getting treatment.
61 min: Bern make a great run and England are in the 22. They are doing very well with a player down. Scarratt picks up a loose ball but Canada turns it over and Pelletier is almost out! Dow finally sinks him, but he’s made a big break!
59 min: I think Alarie is staying! England’s Muir makes an appearance when England have a scrum and with Cornborough in the bin they need a full front row. They come out and are going through the phases.
58 min: There’s a big break in play as Alarie receives treatment, the full-back looks likely to be substituted.
58 min: England are sloppy but they get away with it. They’re going through the phases here, but Harrison kicks out. Alarie is down injured so the full backs are even for now. England are on the attack now, but the referee stops play for Alarie.
56 min: It’s going to be a test for England now, an 11-point cushion to defend with over 20 minutes to go. You’d think the cushion would shrink, but Tuttosi’s starting line isn’t straight! A great start for England. The Red Roses opt for the lineup and Ward has it. They go with the maul and look to finish it off at their 22 here. And wow! They have the penalty and will clear their lines. Expert answer to the yellow of the Red Roses.
YELLOW CARD! Canada 12-23 England (Cornborough, 54′)
Canada goes for the driving maul and wins a set piece penalty. They take a corner again and England will have to be careful after the referee’s earlier warning. They go with the maul once again and Canada has the lead again. I think a card is coming and yes it is.
52 min: The rehearsals in this game have been impressive, what a publicity stunt for women’s rugby. This is spicy and could still go either way. The last score left me speechless! Hunter has been replaced by Cleall. Canada wins the penalty kick and kicks for a corner.
TRY! Canada 12-23 England (Dow, 50′)
What did we just witness?! MacDonald’s opening break is amazing who unloads on Dow and oh my word. She runs and runs and keeps running! This is one of the best attempts of this tournament.

49 min: Canada are patient in their attack and so far England are doing well not to give away the penalty. They are just a few meters here, they are so close! England push Canada back and Cokayne turns the ball over. But they can’t claim it and Canada attack again, that’s some beautiful rugby. England turn it over again, superb defense not to give a penalty in this one. Now MacDonald is countering!
47 min: Castle is on for Canada as the team look to attack here. They have just gone into the 22 but a pass from Tuttosi intended for Paquin is loose, England look to recover it but MacDonald taps it on. A Canada scrum to come. Eight handling errors from England now, that’s been their weakness for a long time and they’ll have to pick it up if they want to win this. Canada comes out with the ball.
45 min: Rowland leaves the field on a cart, he’s cheering the crowd, but there will be worries for Simon Middleton. Kildunne’s confirmation is on and here we go again.
45 min: Doctors are around Rowland and the injury must have come in that last ruck. This will be heartbreaking for the star, especially if England reach the final. I think Rowland will be replaced by Kildunne but I will confirm that soon.
45 min: Canada make a change with Kassil on for DeMerchant. Rowland takes the ball back into touch, but Canada snaps the ball away and will attack here. Tuttosi does very well to pick up a ball that looks destined for a strike. England are defending with one player down as Rowland is on the ground receiving treatment. The referee stops the game to give Rowland time for treatment; this will be a big hit.
PENALTY! Canada 12-18 England (Scarratt, 43′)
Is over! A six-point cushion, but they will need more.
42 min: England are patient with the ball and win a penalty at the breakdown, England aim for the posts – they know how important every point will be.
41 min: Rowland has made great strides in England’s early attack, playing as a full-back so far and the team are now going through the phases. Bern gets some vital metres, but so far Canada is once again good in defence.
Back on the road! Canada 12-15 England
So we are 40 minutes away from meeting one of the teams in the final! A lot of people have been talking about whether Canada can match England in fitness and I hope they can. A footy contest for all 80s would be so tasty!

Just look at this attempt at magic in motion:
Middle: Canada 12-15 England
Well this is close to the best match of the tournament so far. England raced into a 12-0 lead but Canada hit back with two fine tries. There is still everything to play for. What a match!
PENALTY! Canada 12-15 England (Scarratt, 40′)
And it’s over! This is half time, what an exciting part.
39 min: After a reset Canada go away but are under immense pressure as England look to bounce back before the break. Grant moves away but England have it and they look for the third. Scarratt makes a big break to put them in the 22 and they are going through the phases here. England have the penalty and they are debating whether to go for a corner or the posts. Go for the posts! Kick to come.
37 min: There’s a break in play but we’re underway once again, a Canada scrum to come.
37 min: It’s worth saying that Canada is an amateur team, the only semi-finalists who are not professionals. And they go head to head with the number one side in the world. England look to counter but Heard taps.
TRY! Canada 12-12 England (Corrigan, 35′)
Canada opts for the maul again and what an amazing job! They go at least 15 meters and England ping again. The referee has a word with Hunter warning her that those penalties are piling up. Tessier kicks in the corner, another try for them feels imminent. Canada playing England at their own game as they go for the maul again, this time it’s great defending from England to keep the maul from charging. The Red Roses must maintain their defense but Canada is coming very close. They fan it wide and Corrigan is over. Do Goede adds the extras and we’re level!
Updated at 04.09 GMT
33 min: Canada have another clean line-out and now they’re the ones using the driving maul. Matthews is deemed to have dropped it and Tessier kicks, but doesn’t gain much yardage. The Canadian line-up is good and they are now looking for their second try.
31 min: Canada were going through the phases and it was a bit messy, but the play was stopped by the referee because there was a neck from Canada, not sure which player as the replay was not clear. Harrison clears England’s lines. The line out is sloppy from England as Packer loses it and it’s Canada who are on the attack here. Kaljuvee goes for a kick but Dow catches it and makes the tag.
29 min: Canada have the scrum and they go out, they suffer and England have it. But now England is the one to charge! Canada can’t pounce on the loose ball and Harrison throws it into the stands. A Canadian line-out in a great position, it was slightly loose but it goes away.
27 min: Hunt turns the breakdown, great defense by the Canadian. There is free time for players to receive treatment and water. Well what a semi this is!
26 min: Aldcroft wins the penalty at the breakdown and Harrison shoots in the corner. Will the driving maul kick in now? Cokayne’s line-out is clean, but they decide to run it. Ward thinks he has it over the line but some impressive defending sees the ball held! A goal line drive from Canada goes all the way to half and England attack again.
24 min: England clear the ball from the scrum and Harrison shoots. The TMO is checking if this was a 50:22 and it is! England’s output is good and they decide to run it. Harrison offloads with ease to Rowland to put them in the 22nd.
22 min: Canada have another scrum and they come out, fast and firing. But Toquen and England will now have the ball stopped. Paquin’s test has awakened the…
