Chelsea Handler opens up about her former relationship with comedian Jo Koy.

In an episode of “Now What?” on the Brooke Shields Podcast released Tuesday, Handler said she really thought she was going to spend the rest of her life with Koy.

Handler said she was even open to the idea of ​​marriage before the two split after nearly a year together.

“I’m not that hard to get married, but he was open to the idea, and we definitely talked about it at length because it was important to him,” she said. “And then, towards the end of the relationship, it became clear that this was not my person.”

He continued: “There were some behaviors that we couldn’t agree on. I felt like I should quit, which might have been fine to do if I was 20 or 25, but I wasn’t ready to do that. . As much as I loved this person, and I loved him so much, he wasn’t going to leave me,” Handler said. “I’m not going to change the way I act to make you feel more comfortable. I’m not doing that, and I had to walk away from something that I really thought was going to be a forever relationship. So it was hard “.

Handler and Koy met about 20 years ago, and he was a frequent guest on the former E! show, “Chelsea Lately.”

They announced they were a couple in September 2021 and their separation in July.

The two haven’t spoken recently, Handler added.

“There needs to be some accountability on his part for what happened because it was ridiculous, and I don’t think we can have a friendship until there’s some responsibility and accountability,” she concluded.
