AUSSIE STAR SAVES THE DAY FOR PHILLY
The Philadelphia Eagles have Australian punter Arryn Siposs to thank as his touchdown-saving tackle kept the Minnesota Vikings at bay en route to a 24-7 Philly victory.
The Eagles, leading 24-7 with just over three minutes left in the third quarter, were attempting a 41-yard field goal.
However, the effort was blocked and Siposs, who was holding the ball for Eagles kicker Jake Elliott, made a mad dash against Vikings cornerback Kris Boyd after taking the pigskin.
Boyd was on a touchdown run and had an open field to run.
But Siposs managed to wrap his arms around Boyd’s legs and knock him to the ground.
It was a play that earned a lot of applause from NFL fans as it prevented an easy touchdown for the Vikings.
However, such an innings was nothing new for Siposs, who played 28 games for St Kilda in the AFL from 2011 to 2015.

It was a nice day for the Eagles as QB Jalen Hurts threw for 333 yards and a touchdown on 26 completions.
Four of Philadelphia’s WRs posted 69 or more receiving yards, highlighting the air attack they enacted against the Vikings.
The Eagles defense was up to the task as well, sacking Minnesota QB Kirk Cousins three times en route to the win.
ACCOUNTS WIN SUFFERED BY A HORROR WOUND
Josh Allen threw for four touchdowns as the Buffalo Bills maintained their undefeated start to the season with a 41-7 rout of the Tennessee Titans on Monday.
Bills quarterback Allen was the best in a blowout win for Buffalo, finishing with 317 yards on 26-of-38 completions.
The win made it two out of two for Buffalo, which opened the season with a 31-10 rout of the defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams earlier this month.
But Monday’s win was tinged with concern after a first-half injury to cornerback Dane Jackson, who was carted off the field before being taken to hospital with a neck injury.
Jackson was involved in a nasty accidental collision with teammate Tremaine Edmunds just before halftime.
Jackson’s head was snapped back violently during the confrontation. The Bills later revealed that Jackson was being evaluated at the hospital, but reported that the defensive back had full range of motion in his extremities.
Before the Bills took the lead on the opening drive, Allen found fullback Reggie Gilliam on a short pass to cap off a 14-play, 75-yard drive.
The Titans answered with a touchdown of their own when running back Derrick Henry took a short field goal late in the first quarter.
But the Bills took over from there, going up 10-7 on a 49-yard Tyler Bass field goal before Allen connected with Stefon Diggs on a four-yard touchdown reception to make it 17- 7 after the extra point.
The Allen-Diggs drive produced another touchdown early in the third quarter, with Allen scampering 46 yards to find the Bills receiver for his second touchdown of the night.
Another Bass field goal stretched Buffalo’s lead to 27-7 midway through the third quarter before Allen and Diggs combined once again for their third touchdown to make it 34-7.
Linebacker Matt Milano picked off Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill for a 43-yard pick-six to complete the scoring.
