Finally, the day Apple fans have been eagerly waiting for has arrived. Apple’s latest software update, iOS 16, will begin rolling out on Monday around 10:30 p.m. The latest version includes a host of new features, including a custom lock screen, the ability to edit and unsend messages, and more.

Apple has announced that iOS 16 will be released at 10 AM PDT, which translates to around 10:30 PM IST. To install iOS 16, users need to open the Settings app on their iPhone, tap General, go to Software Update, and click install.

Apple will roll out the new update to smartphones such as iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone X, iPhone SE Gen 2, iPhone SE Gen 3, iPhone 11 Series, iPhone 12 Series, iPhone Series 13 and the latest iPhone 14 series.

Customize Lock Screen The new feature is termed as the highlight of the iOS 16 update as it allows users to customize the lock screens of their iPhones. The new feature lets you add widgets, multi-layer wallpapers, custom clock fonts, and more. It will also allow users to select photos to be shuffled on the lock screen. The Lock Screen Gallery displays a variety of options, including weather wallpapers, live weather conditions, astronomy wallpapers and more.

iMessage becomes more efficient At WWDC, it was announced that with the iMessage 16 update, iMessage will become more efficient by allowing users to temporarily edit or unsend iMessages and mark them as unread after opening the bear. Apple now lets you edit an iMessage up to 15 minutes after it’s been relayed. To edit or unsend a message, tap and hold the text bubble and select the option from the menu. Messages that have been edited will be labeled as “edited”.
