Joyce and Parker weigh in ahead of their heavyweight fight in Manchester
Two of the world’s top 10 heavyweights collide at Manchester’s AO Arena tonight (September 24) as Joe Joyce welcomes Joseph Parker back to Britain for a highly anticipated main event fight.
Since winning silver for Team GB at the 2016 Rio Olympics, Joyce has amassed an unbeaten professional record of 14-0, knocking out 13 of his opponents along the way. Joyce has therefore wasted no time trying to become a world champion, which has been ideal for the 37-year-old, whose reputation for promise belies his age. New Zealander Parker, meanwhile, is 30-2 as a pro, with his only defeats coming to Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte in back-to-back fights in 2018, both on British soil, as home fighters outplayed the 30-year-old . .
Parker’s last two outings also took place in Great Britain, with the Kiwi beating Derek Chisora by split decision and then by unanimous decision in May and December 2021. Meanwhile, Joyce has fought more recently, stopping Christian Hammer in the fourth round this July. The interim WBO heavyweight title is on the line in tonight’s main event, with Parker and Joyce taking considerable risk by facing each other.

A brutal start to the 10th round, with each man landing heavy blows to the head and body of his opponent.
Parker finds homes for a left hook and an uppercut. Nice head move by Joyce to avoid any further offence.
He corners Parker and then leans on the Kiwi, who now looks tired and reeling.
Two left hooks in quick succession land Parker, though. He almost blocks a hard left hook at the top and then lands two more right before the bell!

Huge uppercut connects for Parker, but Joyce doesn’t seem to care. He pours his own punches.

Now Joyce targets Parker’s body with hooks from both wings. Parker returns the favor.
A clean right is on the money for Parker. You guessed it; Joyce is not fazed.
