London police said Queen Elizabeth’s state funeral will be the biggest security operation they have ever undertaken, Reuters reports.
Stuart Cundyassistant deputy commissioner of London’s Metropolitan Police, said his force will deploy the largest number of officers on the city’s streets and the largest protection operation for world leaders and monarchs.
“I can confirm that this will be the largest police event the Met Police have ever undertaken,” Cundy said.
“The range of officers, police personnel and everyone who supports the operation is truly immense.”
Cundy said the massive police operation would outshine other major police events in London, including the 2012 Olympic Games and the celebrations of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
