Sisters Rebecca, 37, and Sarah Welham, 34, have been queuing to see the Queen lying in bed for almost two hours.
Funeral director Rebecca Welham brought her daughter, Sophia, and had no trouble getting the five-year-old up at 4am to make the journey from Sevenoaks, Kent, to London.
“She went to sleep last night and this morning at 4am I woke her up,” he said.
“She was ready to go, so I literally had to pick her up and then walk straight out the door.”
Sophia sat quietly in the queue eating a sausage roll, and her mother added: ‘She’s very excited, if I may use that word, to see the Queen.
“She understands what’s happened and wants to be a part of it.”
