Sir Keir Starmer has warned Labor staff to be prepared for the collapse of Liz Truss’s government and a general election “at any moment”.
Announcing a reshuffle of his top team, Sir Keir said the Tory poll collapse that followed the disastrous mini-budget and market turmoil gave Labor “a great opportunity”.
He told Labor Party staff on Tuesday: “The collapse of the government has given us a great opportunity. The instability means they could fall at any moment. That’s why we need to get on an electoral footing now.”
