Man in hospital after violent altercation in Alexandra Park

Toronto police say a man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after an altercation in downtown Tuesday night.

Police said the incident happened in Alexandra Park in the Bathurst Street and Dundas Street West area at 9:20 p.m.

A man suffered a serious injury to the edge and began walking down Bathurst Street, where he collapsed and was found by paramedics.

The paramedics took the man to the hospital, where he is now in stable condition.

Police initially described the incident as a stabbing, but it is not yet clear how the man was injured.

There is currently no information on the suspects.

Police said they have closed lanes heading north and south on Bathurst Street due to the investigation.
