A Mercedes driver has managed to travel several kilometers on Adelaide’s O-Bahn bus route and get back on the road without crashing.
Cars that end up on the busway in Adelaide’s northeastern suburbs often end up needing to be towed off the busway due to the wide gap in the tracks.
9News understands an elderly driver inadvertently drove into the bus lane at Park Terrace in North Adelaide shortly after 4pm yesterday.

Road signs and traffic lights state that drivers should not enter the bus lane, but just a few weeks ago another driver accidentally ran into it.
A crane had to be used to remove this car from the O-Bahn during the night of 23 August.
The Mercedes driver managed to stay on the tracks until the Klemzig interchange, covering three to four kilometres, before the driver navigated back onto the road.
Footage captured by a runner and posted on social media shows the Mercedes traveling on the bus lane next to a bus.
Social media users have commented on how often cars end up stuck in the bus lane.

“Surely they should install doors with sensors that only open when a bus enters the O-Bahn. This happens far too often,” commented one man.
While some have suggested more needs to be done to prevent drivers from entering the bus lane, others have said the problem is caused solely by driver error.
“I don’t think you can have a bigger warning sign than the entry points,” one person commented on Twitter.
