10 dead, 18 injured in mass stabbing in Saskatchewan, Canada
Saskatchewan stabbing suspect Damien Sanderson has died, but his brother Myles is still at large and may be injured and seeking medical attention, police say.
The two men were named by police in connection with the violence that left 10 people dead and 18 others injured in a spate of stabbings at 13 locations in the province of Saskatchewan, according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).
Damien Sanderson’s wounds did not appear to be self-inflicted and he was found in a heavily grassed area on the James Smith Cree Nation near a home police were examining Monday as part of the investigation.
Police are still looking for his brother, Myles Sanderson, 30.
“It’s horrific what happened in our province today,” RCMP Assistant Commissioner Rhonda Blackmore said at a news conference Sunday.
Police said the victims were a mix of those chosen at random and some specifically targeted.
In an update Monday evening, Police Chief Evan Bray said officers will continue to operate under the assumption that the still-wanted suspect is somewhere in Regina “until we get information to the contrary.”
“Report anything that’s unusual,” Chief Bray asked in his address.

Police warn manhunt suspect may be injured, but still ‘armed, dangerous’
Myles Sanderson, the remaining suspect involved in the mass stabbing that left 11 people dead, including the second suspect, his brother Damien, authorities believe may need medical attention.
“We want the public to know because there is a possibility that they will seek medical attention,” Saskatchewan RCMP commanding officer Rhonda Blackmore said at a news conference Monday.
The commander cautioned that just because the 30-year-old was injured doesn’t mean he doesn’t pose a threat to the public.
“Even if he’s injured, it doesn’t mean he’s not still dangerous,” he added.
Myles has a long criminal record, Ms. Blackmore noted Monday.
Although only 30 years old, Myles has racked up 59 criminal convictions since he was 18, Global News reported citing the suspect’s parole records from last spring.
