Steelers at Bengals score: Live updates, game stats, highlights, analysis for AFC North Week 1 matchup

CINCINNATI — There’s a potential upset brewing in Cincinnati. The visiting Steelers, aided by four turnovers by the Bengals, took a 17-6 lead over the defending AFC champions into halftime.

Pittsburgh’s defense recorded three first-half interceptions by Joe Burrow, including Minkah Fitzpatrick’s 31-yard pick in the game’s opening minutes. The Steelers extended their lead to 17-3 after Mitch Trubisky hit Najee Harris with a 1-yard touchdown pass midway through the second quarter. The score was set up by TJ Watt’s interception of Burrow, who before Sunday’s game had never thrown multiple interceptions in a first half.

Cincinnati’s best player in the first half was running back Joe Mixon, whose 31-yard run on a fourth-and-1 play set up Evan McPherson’s second field goal just before halftime. Mixon rushed for 67 yards on 15 carries in the first 30 minutes of the game. The Bengals suffered a loss when wide receiver Tee Higgins left the game after taking a hard hit. Higgins is out with a concussion.
