A teenager and two children have died after a violent incident at a house in Dublin, police have said.
The 18-year-old girl and her 8-year-old twin siblings, a boy and a girl, were taken by ambulance to Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) in Crumlin, but all three were later pronounced dead.
Officers were called to a Rossfield Estate property in Tallaght at around 12.30am on Sunday, and described the incident as violent, challenging and traumatic.

A 14-year-old boy was also taken from the scene to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
A man in his 20s was later arrested at the scene by the Gardaí’s Armed Support Unit.
He is being held at Tallaght Garda Station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
The children’s mother, who was not injured, was also taken to CHI and is currently receiving medical attention.
Gardai said all those involved are believed to know each other and officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
The scene at Rossfield Estate remains cordoned off and a forensic examination will be carried out by the Garda Technical Office on Sunday.

An Garda Siochana said it has appointed a family liaison officer and will continue to support those involved, along with other state agencies.
