Violence erupted in Melbourne’s CBD overnight, with a series of bloody attacks across the city leaving one man dead and several others in hospital.

Emergency services were called to Bourke Street at around 5.45am following reports of an assault.
Two men suffered stab wounds and were taken to hospital in critical condition.
One of the men, who has not yet been formally identified, later died in hospital and Bourke Street remains closed.
The Bourke Street incident was the second stabbing of the night, following a fight outside a nightclub at the intersection of Flinders Lane and King Street.
Two men were found with stab wounds after a confrontation at around 1.25am.
A 19-year-old and another unidentified man are fighting for their lives in hospital after the attack.

Trio attacked in a fight on the promenade
An assault on Melbourne’s Southbank left one man with suspected life-threatening injuries and two other men with facial injuries.
Police have been told that two groups of men appeared to be arguing as they left a bar off Riverside Quay at around 12.40pm.
The argument allegedly spilled onto the promenade, where three men were run over by two other men.
A 25-year-old man from Springvale was hit hard in the face before falling and hitting his head on the ground.
The other two men, aged 24 and 25 from Keysborough and Cheltenham, received facial injuries.
The couple who according to the police appeared to be the attackers fled the scene.
