Tyson Fury says Anthony Joshua fight is over: ‘It’s officially over!’

Tyson Fury has declared he will not fight Anthony Joshua because “no contract has been signed” after his self-imposed deadline of 5pm on Monday.

Joshua said on Sunday he will sign the contract to fight Fury after the WBC champion issued an ultimatum if they want to reunite their all-British heavyweight battle this year.

Fury, who initially demanded Joshua sign the contract by Monday, returned to Instagram to claim Joshua had until 5pm or he will walk away from the deal.

But Fury later took to Instagram to say: “It’s official. D-Day has come and gone. It’s past 5pm on Monday, no contract signed. Y’ it’s officially over for Joshua. Now he’s out in the cold with the wolf pack. Forget it. Idiot. Coward!”

Anthony Joshua has confirmed that he will sign the contract for the fight against Tyson Fury on December 3.

He goes on to say, “I always knew you didn’t have the minerals to fight the Gypsy King. Good luck with your career and life.”

Joshua had assured Fury on Sunday that he would sign the contract, saying: “It’s not in my hands, it’s with the legal team. That’s why you hire lawyers. You know the history of boxing, make sure you get your legal terms right .

Dillian Whyte says he would be happy to fight Anthony Joshua in December if his proposed fight with Tyson Fury does not go through.

“Of course I’m going to sign a contract. It’s just with some lawyers for now.”

Fury can still fight before the end of the year, but the undisputed showdown with WBO, WBA and IBF holder Oleksandr Usyk will have to wait until next year.

Charr a Fury: Forget AJ, fight me

Mahmoud Charr last week asked Fury to forget about fighting Joshua in December and fight him instead.

Former WBA “regular” champion Charr insists Fury should not fight Joshua, following AJ’s back-to-back defeats at the hands of Usyk.

“First of all, if Fury fights AJ next, it’s not good for boxing. AJ is mentally broken and needs to bounce back from his two losses,” Charr told Sky Sports.

“If Eddie Hearn takes this fight against Fury, Eddie [will] you have to change your business. I think Fury will knock AJ out badly, [given] his mental position now.

“Everybody knows that Fury promised more than once that he would fight me. If he’s the real Spartan, he has to fight the real Superman. That’s me.

“I’m coming off a five game win [streak] and God gave me another chance to live. Everyone knows I’m coming off a stomach shot and two hip surgeries. Never forget, seven months later I became the first Arab heavyweight champion of the world.

“This story is the same as Fury, to not give up and fight for the legacy. I want Fury next. Fear not, Spartan, accept my challenge!”
